The dress is the result of a quick peruse through Secondi, which proved extremely dangerous and I'll be much more cautious before I venture there with my wallet in hand again. This was the first thing I saw when I walked in and my hands frantically grabbed for it before I was even able to process what was happening. I'm not going to tell you how much I got it for, because you might hunt me down if I did. The shoes, well... I cracked.

In the past, I haven't been so much a fan, but the added volume in the skirt gives this piece such an interesting shape, don't you think? The fabric is quite cool, as well. It's kind of a chambray. Needless to say, I am in love and will have to hope and pray I can find a similar creation on Topshop now.

For quite a while now, I've been searching for the perfect mesh insert dress. Initially, I was Hell-bent on a white one, but I was looking at my Helmut Lang tunic the other day, imagining its infinite possibilities, when the light bulb went off that a black one was already within my grasp. And I love how wearing a strapless dress underneath shows off the spinal shape of the tunic. I went absolutely bonkers at H&M the other day. I can't get over how many amazing Fall pieces they have for under the $50 mark. I even saw a few things on my way out the door which have been haunting my dreams since I left. These snake print jeans were in the H&M Fall "magazine" and I marked a giant star next to them the moment I laid eyes upon them, so I guess it was meant to be. However, they fit so much better than I would have expected. I might even go out on a limb and say they rival the fit of my much-loved J Brands... More on my blog www.districtofchic.com

Back. Happy, relaxed, satisfied, maybe a little bit tired. I love New Orleans so much. I want to do a full run-down of the trip, but that might be a little much for my brain to handle right now. Here's a snippet instead: this was my outfit for dinner at Brigsten's. It was very delicious and certainly did not disappoint. The highlights of the meal were my Gratin of Oysters & Artichokes with Lemon Parmesan Sauce and K's Rabbit Tenderloin with Andouille Parmesan Grits Cake, Spinach, & Creole Mustard Sauce.
