You know what I love about this whole sporty chic thing? Take some comfy shorts and a top, add heels and blazer, et voila, you're done! Now if I can just get my hands on a pair of fancy scalloped Chloe shorts, my life will be complete. Oh and this nifty little pin thing I found in my mother's old jewelry. I think it gets along nicely with my blazer.

Wednesday included sitting outside with a friend, catching up on long-neglected magazine reading, and hanging out with a carb-obsessed mini doberman, who I am contemplating kidnapping. I also got to break out my fabulous "new" sequin top that I recently discovered. It's so incredibly comfortable and airy - so perfect for a warm summer night.

I've had my eye on this Helmut Lang beauty for some time now and jumped at the chance to have it in my hot little hands as soon as Net-a-Porter had it on sale. I must say my happiness in general has definitely increased now that it has arrived. The ventilated fabric is perfect for summer and much more durable than I would have thought. I'm starting to develop a penchant for spine-centric fashion, I believe.

B and I went to the see the Hurt Locker, which was so friggin' awesome! Definitely see it. Anyway, even though it's been hot as Hades lately, I freeze to death in movie theaters so I had to layer up. I hadn't thought about leggings in quite a while, but Katie of Faux as F*ck inspired me to rock them with this shirt dress.
I was unsure of this biker short trend at first, but Stylish Wanderer and Stylorectic have shown me the light. Now I wear them with just about everything.

I love how bike shorts make any dress instantly more mobile. Wore this to Poste (excellent cocktail and cheese selection, btw) on Friday for a friend's bday and could not have been more comfortable.

Among a few other things, this dress was one of the vintage goodies I obtained in New Orleans. I saw this on the rack and swiped it on a whim, in the process of grabbing many many other things. It's not the style (if I have a style) I normally go for, but it fit like a glove and I'm kind of digging the delicate, Victorian feel. It's also beyond comfy. May or may not have rocked it like PJs on the plane ride home... www.districtofchic.com

Ok, I have to admit, I let these fantastic gold socks slide the first time I saw them at H&M and didn't actually pick them up until the next time I came back. But that's true love, right - if you love something and you let it go and it still comes back to you, then it's meant to be?
