Do you ever have something you’re “saving to wear and then forget why you were saving it? This is one such skirt. I bought it back in February and wanted to wear it on a crisp spring day. Since all my laundry still needs picked up, this will work. Sometimes lately I feel like I’m dressing a little too old. Do I look 25? 35?

I really, truly thought that the hat would provide a little comfort on the hottest of days. Instead, it just kept flopping around, getting in my way. And same with the dress. What I realized, however, is that nothing is going to make you comfortable in 90 degrees in the hot hot sun other than maybe a pool? Ocean breeze? It was a scorcher.

In attempt to snap myself out of a fashion funk, I went shopping yesterday at Beacon’s Closet. This shirt was one of my goodies. Thrift shopping is so satisifying— you’re recycling garments, you save money, you get to (at Beacon’s anyway) shift through well picked pieces (one of the girls at the counter is styling a shoot for Vogue this week). Its one of my favorite things to do.

Feeling glam this morning, inspired by Eden (the navy) and Francesca (the dress). 95% of my fashion inspiration comes from real women. Its just too easy to be inspired!

The office that can’t decide if it wants to over or under heat.

The weather in New York here is idyllic… The evening and morning air is crisp, you can sleep with your windows open— it almost felt like a homecoming weekend. And ya know? I just wanted to wear some tights! (I just took them off— a little too toasty now). Again, inspired by the lovely Francesca.

Why:
This weekend I had a little fashion motivation so I started putting outfits together and hanging them up in groups in my closet. It saved me a lot of time this morning and I really like the result here. I am much more confident getting dressed when there’s no pressue (like time).

Well, I almost wore this dress yesterday but it was looking too Amish so I cut the hem up about 7 inches. Also knew I was about to hit my 300th photo, and thought— why not wear the first dress I ever bought at a flea market? Sort of a special occassion for me. Feeling tall and happy.
