I’m feeling like a lux hippie tonight. I am down with the black eye makeup, but also down with the scarf around the head. When I get dressed up I don’t like to look too hoochie. I guess covering most of my arms/legs solves that. I also think the head scarf makes me look more approachable.
Its sort of warm, sort of cool and spring enough to get away with a semi revealing top. But then there’s the commute jacket that can stay in place until I lose my shyness/drink too much.

I finally felt that feeling again— when I wear something out of my comfort zone, but still like the outfit. I’m taking a huge risk wearing shorts to work, but because the partners and merchandisers have been talking about them lately, I think its gonna be ok. I found these at Concordia Thrift in Fort Wayne as part of a “Whatver you can fit into this bag is $5 sale. So these were $0.75. Nice! Yay summer.

Well, I almost wore this dress yesterday but it was looking too Amish so I cut the hem up about 7 inches. Also knew I was about to hit my 300th photo, and thought— why not wear the first dress I ever bought at a flea market? Sort of a special occassion for me. Feeling tall and happy.

Why:
First off, the more I wear heels, the harder it is for me to go back to flats. I feel like a sky scraper today! Also excited to wear a shirt fresh from the cleaners, paired with something *new* from my closet. This is a skirt I wore a lot last year as a knee length number, but as you can see, I’ve hemmed it up quite a bit. I love short skirts and tights together! Instead of being all black and sort of boring, the tights I’m wearing are a dark charcoal and ribbed. Actually, they’re leggings, which are my new faves. The shoes are my new classic and at the rate I’ve been wearing them, they’ll be perfectly broken in (…soon I hope).
I’m wearing my mom’s charm bracelet from when she was my age. My dad’s college is on there, her high school banner, an artist palette, an ancient Disney pin, a globe… I’ve added a thimble and a DG charm. Its such a great piece.
