When in a rush, its good to have a “go to outfit. For me, this shirt is just that thing. I love this thing, and it was like, $5 or something!! I cut off the sleeves and capped them with some elastic. And duh on the jeans and boots. And on a side note, next time I am forgetting a button (like the one that showing too much) it would be nice if my co-workers would say something. Ooops.

Where: Work, meeting Why: Its the first day of fall and tights are the name of the game. I’ve actually bought a few pairs of leggings recently (no full footie tights in the colors I wanted) and wear them tucked under my heel. I think I may actually prefer not having my toes all sweatied up by tights. Also, loving this easy knit dress from H&M and keeping it tonal with the tights. My mom’s purple cocktail ring (love it!) also in the same color story. For the chill in the air, my go to black scarf. The belt shouldn’t work, but it does (to wear at the natural waist, I move the metal tongue to the side and then wrap excess belt to keep her nicely in place). Happy Equinox!

Where: Work Why: After a year I finally had this dress taken to the cleaners so it was about time I wore it again. Didn’t want to do plain black underneath so I took a risk and went for patterned tights. I know a lot of you may not think this works, but I like the dimension it adds to the outfit. I’m a fan of mixing patterns (more on that later).

Where: Office and meet up Why: I really have no idea. I started with the tights and just kept putting random things on. Wearing navy and black like its my birthright. I feel so childlike/ish in this short cirlce skirt. Spinning around all the live long day.

Where: Work Why: Running very late today, raining this morning and no interest in putting together something spectacular. But then I put the coat on and thought— this is actually sort of cute. So here are some quick quick shots. I’m really looking forward to Christmas vacation and my suitcase of crazy delights. I will be dressing to the nines.

Where: At home in Fort Wayne, Indiana Why: This morning the power was off for about 4 hours so we just sat around and finally decided to go to the grocery. When we came back the power was on, I was bored, and needed to shower and get ready. I thought this bright blue dress felt icy and looked right for the day. Thanks to my sister for taking the photos. Also, I need a haircut (or at least a bang trim). I know.

Birthday Edition: December 21, 2008

Where: To a Christmas party (we celebrated with lunch) Why: Although it was only about 3 degrees F when I took this picture, I’ve had this outfit in mind for a while for my birthday. Its all sorts of fun with the pretty 1950’s sheer lacey top and the black and lurex striped skirt (which I hemmed that morning). I finally bought some purple tights so on they went. I love this outfit, but I really loved spending the day with my family and how they went to a lot of work to make it feel special (and thanks for all of the kind birthday wishes from my tumblr and interwebs friends!!)

Oh No You Didn't!

Well well well… you probably never saw acid wash jeans coming on What I Wore… did you? I’ve loved the look since seeing it on some Swedish blogger girls and at TopShop last spring, and with these being on sale for $12, I thought- why the eff not?!? Since the shoes are pretty high, I wanted to keep the top simple and not too hoochie… there’s definitely a possibility for the jeans to skew that way. I feel sort of hipster/european. And a funny thing— On my way to boyfriends, a cabbie says out his window “Going to Williamsburg? I’ll give you a good discount! Williamsburg, Brooklyn!!” Ha ha ha. If you'd like to weigh in your thoughts on whether this look is a hit or miss... rock over to the blog (whatiwore.tumblr.com) to voice your opinion.
