when: 9 january 2009 what: i had a very early breakfast meeting this morning in my neighborhood and threw this together very quickly. the plaid shirt is actually from a kid's store, i was completely enamored by it when i saw it in a window display over the summer and immediately scooped it up. the turtleneck under button down look was inspired by a recent bit of style advice in glamour magazine, but they were going for a more chic polished look with a suit and a black against white combo, i'll be trying that when i have to wear my suits again, but here the result is very 1990's grade school, but i like it anyway. the february issue of lucky that i was pouring over last night had similar advice about summer peasant tops + turtlenecks and i think i'll be trying that tonight when i go out, turtlenecks feel just so perfect when it's this frigid out!
