what: brrr! it was cold this morning, so i threw on my favorite coat why: this is pretty much fail-proof

why: i just got these patterned tights and planned this outfit around them. it's a bit subtle in the photo, but it's a vibrant copper & burgandy graphic pattern on a black background.

when: 14 january 2009 what: work why: i wanted to tone down my new bright purple tights for work. adding micro fishnets makes the purple just barely visible in the right lighting and the color saturation doesn't overpower the dress either it's also a super cheapo way to accent a look- the fishnets were 60 cents at the limited and the purple tights were 1.50 at a mall store that was going out of business
when: 14 january 2009 what: back to work! why: i wanted to keep warm and play with colors without being too bold about it- bright purple tights layered under black micro fishnets were perfect. i'm not loving these shoes though, they're too school girly for my taste...

I just returned from a month long trip in europe - packing was challenging because i needed suits for formal presentations, casual wear for traveling through 6 countries, pretty outfits for romantic dinners, and sightseeing wear. In the end, i packed only the things tagged here :) i rarely repeat an item at all in an entire season, and here i had only one pair of jeans, 2 pairs of tights, and a pair of leggings and three pairs of (very functional) shoes to cover my bottom half for a whole month!
