what: class all day why: i love mixing and matching textures, and autumn is the perfect time to do it...
what: class all day why: i like these proportions
what: class all day why: this coat is my favorite purchase from last year- the fabric is completely luxurious and the gold buttons and plaid make it endlessly fun
what: class all day and a bad case of hat hair...
what: it's my birthday, but i'm swamped with work and classes. i also ended up spending four hours on line to vote- but this outfit is comfortable and working for me why: the whole outfit is built around my new peacock green tights, and i'm excited i found a way to work in a turtleneck i've basically never worn, but have been holding onto since high school!
why: green rocks.
why: i love that this coat is double breasted, extra warmth = extra fun
what: work, class, voting, and dinner why: a totally multipurpose outfit for a day filled tons of activities :)
why: i like how this hat doesn't match
where: san francisco- clarion alley mural hunt
where: san fran mural walk
where: san fran, ca why: lazy sunday
what: lazy sunday
where: work and errands why: the air was really crisp today so i went with lots of random layers to keep myself warm
what: class til 10pm why: time for floral embroidery to make a come back!
why: black & gray- neutral, but not.
what: friend's birthay bash
what: friend's birthday dinner at an iranian restaurant
what: amazing sunday brunch
what: dinner with the boyfriend why: i just wore this dress/leggings outfit exactly a week ago- ha! but i styled it differently, obviously, come finals time i become a creature of habit- in fact, it's probably the comfiest thing i own, and i think i've worn this combo 200 times since i bought it last year - take that overpriced AA cotton!!
why: i just got this new purse for free and i'm pretty obsessed with it- i think i came up with this outfit in homage to the newest addition to the handbag collection- like i really needed another lesportsac'ish patterned handbag, but again, creature of habit. one day i'll be become smarter and start investing in normal handbags that are actually appropriate for a lawyer to own- i'll keep you all posted...
I totally scored with this vintage floral dress, it has a fabulously oversized hood and fits like a dream. To make it winter appropriate, I added a long-sleeve tee, two pairs of tights, and ankle boots (as always). Of course, I also added my basic outerwear: a cardigan, my new long coat, and a hat. jewelry: just my favorite vintage floral studs
none of these florals compete or overpower each other- i love when things almost clash, but don't!
I was totally taken aback when I realized how thrifty this outfit was: I got the cropped paper-bag waist pants at Urban Outfitters for $3! The turtleneck is H&M, $8, and my boyfriend found me these vintage 1950's pumps in the awesome vintage shop in Jersey- $20! I've never really known what to do with these pants, but today after staring in the mirror for a bit, I hemmed them up about 4 inches - I guess calf-length and high waisted was just too overwhelming on my figure. Nonetheless, I love this now!
i adore this outfit. it was my go-to look when i wanted to look put together last winter, and i ended up wearing it so much it's just swirling with good karma & memories!
cozy with my winter accessories
i had a fabulous weekend of shopping at the new york vintage show and schmoozing at the new york comic convention-- i scored big time on the shopping front with some vintage gucci pumps at the most perfect 1950's peplum dress, but you'll have to wait to see those lovelies! :)
i totally overdid it with the red tops this week, i guess i had a theme going?
