what: 5 hour cafe date with my oldest friend why: i haven't gotten much wear out of these jeans, but i do love how they work with this sweater- the colors really flow and nothing ends up too loud.
why: i always pair this suit with a color that complements its subtle blue pinstripes, it has a lot more texture than it lets on
what: work and classes why: this blazer is so fun, i picked it up on super super sample sale discount in the middle of july not knowing what to do with it then. i love how the back and front have different versions of the same tweed

when: 5 november 2008 where: work why: i love how a longer top can make it seem like you were blessed with so much more height! i always cinch this top in at the waist with a belt to break up the silhouette a little bit
what: another day of work and class! why: it was a seriously brisk day and an extra cozy cardigan was called for- today's really about these pants, i've had them since high school- they are very happy to make a come back- it doesn't hurt that cream, yellow, brown, & black are a super winning combination

where: work why: i've been battling a terrible cold, so this fuzzy cardigan kept me warm-- i love the proportions of the cardigan against the dress too, seriously- this dress is proving to be so much more versatile than i expected of a pastel shift dress
what: work why: when i'm running so incredibly late in the morning (over slept by about 2 hours, ick.) i end up with an outfit with funny proportions since my head is so clouded- the sweater is too bulky to pair with this skirt, and the skirt seems to long for the heel height- so i was uncomfy all day long - but apparently it photographs well- who knew?
funny hair is courtesy of moi- i chopped off half my hair yesterday in about 2.5 seconds after noticing how damaged the ends were and realizing i wouldn't have time for a proper cut til the holidays
this skirt is part of a full suit- its totally fabulous when i need to appear more lawyerly! and note to self: it's time to start double layering my tights!!!!
why: that's right- the skirt is awesomely textured INSIDE AND OUT
what: work on a day when everyone took a half day and had suitcases lined up next to their desks so they can make a mad dash to penn station to go back to new jersey, or wherever they come from, for the holiday why: i don't leave the city for the holidays, so it was any other day for me--but i'm feeling totally festive, peacock green legs, a forest green luscious skirt, and vibrant orange nails were exactly what was needed. i bought this skirt for $2.50 at a sample sale 2 years ago, but it was a size too big- i finally got around to altering it this week. PS- i was sipping on apple cider when i took this photo- does it get more festive than this? i think not.
